Navy Junior Wrestling 2023/2024

TEAM INFORMATION

PRACTICE SCHEDULES ARE TENTATIVE...FINAL PRACTICE DAYS AND TIMES ARE ANNOUNCED

PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SEASON.

Navy Junior Wrestling typically fields two "A" teams (SEALs) and a "B" team (Plebes) that compete in the Anne Arundel County League:

SEALS:

This level is reserved for experienced wrestlers only and selection is determined following an evaluation. The SEAL teams are fully committed to competitive wrestling. In order to be eligible for the SEALS BLUE or GOLD teams, a wrestler must have demonstrated superior wrestling ability as well as a commitment to the wrestling program.

Multiple teams are registered with the county to maximize opportunities for its members to wrestle in a competitive environment and to allow families with multiple wrestlers the convenience of being on the same team. The individual teams wear identical singlets and compete against the same teams in the league. Both teams are afforded equal opportunity at all tournaments (state, local, or otherwise).

SEALS PRACTICE: MONDAY/TUESDAY/THURSDAY 6:30PM - 8:00PM (SEAL practice may run to 8:30PM)

PLEBES (NOVICE):

The Plebes team is our beginner team, and no experience is necessary. This team serves as an introduction to the sport. As such, all ages comprise this team. Although they compete in local tournaments and matches, the emphasis is on fun and learning. 

PLEBES PRACTICE: MONDAY/WEDNESDAY 6:30PM - 8:00PM

Coaches will decide, primarily with parents' concurrence, which team wrestlers should be placed.  If you are unsure which group your wrestler should be placed with, please discuss with the coaches at practice.
